Gnars Has Officially Launched! — #7
This week, our hard work finally paid off! Thanks to you guys, the Gnars auction house is up and running, our community is fully driven by organic growth, and we see Gnarly-ness all day round in the Discord. Really appreciate it Gnar-fam!
Gnars aside, this has been a pretty rough week. The Ukraine-Russia conflict has caused yet another crypto price slump, US Crypto policies are just around the corner… and there has been another NFT exploit, again!
In fact, the scam is still underway, but we will still be diving into it nevertheless. So sit back, be sure to check out our Twitter, and let’s watch things unfold in real-time.
ART HAUS Special: Gnars Is Live!
For those new to Gnars, here’s a bit of backstory.
Upon the inception of Nouns, pioneers of the CC0 NFT movement, we were inspired to do create our own version of CC0 art. This, combined with The Head of HAUS’ history of skateboarding, led to the birth of Gnars.
So now after a month of late-night calls, Gnars generation and regeneration, plus multiple audits on the project, we’re finally live! LFG Gnars!!!
If you’d like to find out more about what CC0 means, I wrote a handy article on this quite a while ago… do check it out!
Back to the Gnars, each auction lasts for a total of 666 blocks on the Ethereum network. That’s about 2.5 hours, per Gnar, forever. Here’s a write-up on what Gnars is all about.
So far, we have made tremendous progress in terms of sales and community growth. We just hit 6.9K in charity donations on Saturday… wen 69K?

Don’t forget to join our Gnarly Discord, keep updated on our Twitter, or even partake in a Gnars auction. WAGMI!!
News Of The Week: X2Y2/OpenSea NFT Exploit?? (Saga Ongoing)
You heard it right, we’re covering this NFT exploit although it’s still underway. Amid the FUD spreading on Twitter, it’s pretty tough to know… wtf is going on?
Sifting some info from alphas and Twitter, here’s what’s currently happening.
How?
For some reason or another, a hacker is draining the Ether and high-profile NFTs from the wallets of some whales. And it appears that the hacker didn’t plan this exploit just yesterday.
According to dev @0xfoobar on Twitter, the hacker is using a contract deployed a month ago to exploit the OpenSea marketplace. Before the listings expire in about a week, the hacker is deciding to exploit the contract now.

So far, they have stolen over 640 ETH and 18 NFTs worth quite a sizeable sum. While it seems like the hacker has stopped draining wallets for now, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
Some people are starting to accuse the exploit of being on X2Y2’s end, a competitor of OpenSea. However, closer inspection of the exploit and clarification on X2Y2’s Twitter re-affirms that it’s probably an email phishing scam using OpenSea’s name.

Oh no, I traded on OpenSea… how can I protect my assets?
If you have interacted with either X2Y2 or OpenSea’s sites recently, make sure to disconnect from them immediately. Then, proceed to the Token Approval Checker on Etherscan, connect your web3 wallet, and revoke access in the ERC-20 section if you have an x2y2 token.
Continue to the ERC-721 section and ERC-1155 section to revoke access to the remainder of your valuable NFTs. Don’t forget to proceed to Revoke.Cash to revoke your wallet connections to both OpenSea and X2Y2.
Check out DeBank if Revoke.cash is not responding. Stay safe NFT-goers.
